Election Issue
Border control has been centralized topic in the media for many years now. In Election's coming up this November the topic has become increasingly prevalent. Beto O'Rourke and Ted Cruz are Texan's two choices for the upcoming Senate election, and their opinions on border control are vastly contrasted. Beto, who grew up in El Paso Texas is fiercely liberal, and following these liberal ideals, has a more open mind to border control. Ted Cruz, on the other hand, is a very strong Republican and has ideas for stricter regulations on the border. The two candidates give Texan's a very black or white choice it seems to me- you are either voting Liberal or Conservative, Democratic or Republican. Both of the candidates embody the ideals that their parties hold, and I think in this election that it is more a matter of who turn out to vote, either it being more Republican or more Democratic. I personally agree more along the lines with Beto's ideals. I think all humans need to be treated like humans, and we need to stand for what America originally founded on. "Land of the Free" is one of our mottos, and shouldn't be limited to just people born here.
