Political Views- Luke

My views on topics addressed in the reading

Level of education
I think that high school should be free, and sponsored by the state for public schooling. Free college is not the right way to go. A college degree doesn't make you successful. Will to work, thinking, and skills should be the main factor for a job. Funding for free colleges will create even larger issues and cause government spending issues (As if they couldn't get worse...).

Family income
Income should come from the parents......? In theory, race should not be a deciding for the income you make, but that difference is divided into social classes. Governments should not always provide jobs; it should be the person's duty to make their own decisions.

Region of U.S.

Since historically, specific places usually vote a certain party, this can effect/affect the local livelihood. Texas has usually voted "red", but Houston is mostly a "blue" city, so it is a little conflicted.

Religion (views of the Bible)
I believe religion can have a say in politics, based on personal beliefs, but I also believe religion should not be the main deciding factor for large issues. As America becomes more diverse, so does the religious views and this creates problems with the politics. Views and solutions should come from facts and for the sake of America, rather than a religion.

Sex
People can have sex :-)   I am a strong believer that qualifications are much more important than 'a gender'. On an advisory board, lets say, I would rather have 3 qualified males than 2 males and 1 female, just for the sake of having a woman. Because people say inequality is an issue, a solution would be as follows. To have a job like 'the man' don't take the man's job because of your sex, but instead get qualified to do better than
him. Boom. Disabling sexism and helping the economy.
