Political Views

Perjhing Mardani

I have attended private schools since I was 6 years old. Raised by a mother who owns her own Dental practices, we are financially well sustained. I thank my mother greatly for providing an excellent education for me. I think that this definitely has an impact on my political view. My family does not talk about politics much with each other, so don't have many opinions on politics. I am also not old enough to vote. Although, when I am old enough and my vote actually matters, I want to make sure that the education systems are good in our country. Every child deserves a good education, no matter their financial situation. I have many friends that attend public schools that switched from private, and they don't seem to have any problems with the education they are receiving. Living in Houston most people are very political and firm about their beliefs. There is no way to avoid being involved in politics. Congress signs everywhere when you drive down neighborhoods, and ads are unavoidable. My family is from Iran but my brother and I were born in Houston. I do not have a problem with our President and targeting my race, from what I have seen on the media. Being middle eastern has not been a problem for me, which is a blessing. I am not religious. I have friends from all different religions. In politics religion is important I feel, for our president my thoughts on him do not come from his religious standpoint. Being female I do not feel discriminated against, except for the income different between male an females. I feel that now in politics female figures are just as relevant as male.
