Political Views
- Level of education
- Family income
- Region of U.S.
- Racial group
- Religion (views of the Bible)
- Sex
These questions stated at the top can be the determining factor for what one's political views are or will be. This is because most kids usually regurgitate things that their parents, friends, and religion say. Many kids my age might not exactly know their political views yet. Even if they do, it can be because they learned it from somewhere else, and figured that this is what they were going to support. All of these questions stated at the top have many different answers, which can ultimately affect one’s political choices and views. For example, having a large income, might make it so one wouldn’t want equality for the people that don’t work day and night to get this successful. If you were either male or female, one might have different thoughts around equal pay. If someone were from the south and another person was from the north, either could be more conservative or liberal. A person's race can drive his/her political views. Being apart of a religion, might make it so you develop political views that people in that religion believe in. If one were to have a higher education, this could lead them into having different views than a person who had a substantially lower education than them. I personally haven’t given a lot of thought around politics. I have always just learned politics from my friends and family. I feel that it is the right time to start putting some thought into my political views, because I am around the age that kids start to think for themselves. There is a transfer from your parents doing everything for you, to taking the lead into your own life. This can start by developing one's political views.
I am still not to sure what my political views are. Although, once I become certain of what my views are, my political choices around voting will be trying to find the candidate that best represents my views. Depending on what someone's views are, will most definitely affect who that person might vote for. For example, if one person wanted to have equality for everyone with the help of the government, and another person wanted the government to be less involved in everyone's lives, than these two people would probably vote for different candidates. As you can see, one’s views will definitely affect that person’s political choices.
