Religions Role in the Conquering of the Incas

The conquering of the Incas was a brutal fight. Not so much of a fight as an ambush and massacre of the Incas. In the book, there is a note written by one of the generals to the King of Spain at the time. In this note the general talks about how they will conquer the Incas for the Lord Jesus. He talks about how he will capture the Heathens who aren't good Christians. From the note, it is pretty obvious that the Spaniards are using religion to justify their actions no matter how bad they are.
"It will be to the glory of God because they have conquered and brought to our holy Catholic Faith so vast a number of heathens aided by His holy guidance."
In this part of the note, the general talks about how for the glory of God and for the good of everybody Catholic they have to conquer the Incas and take them to Church to become Christians. They are forcing their religion on them and saying that justifies their actions, but they don't say that they also don't like that the Incas are different and that they have land they want but that makes them seem greedy and worthy of going to Hell so they instead say they are doing it all for their Lord Jesus.
