Global warming is a very large issue we have in our world. I feel that being aware of our impact on the earth and being educated on global warming is very important. Texas is number 1 in using solar energy, but is number 10 in solar energy production due to a lack of resources. Global warming will soon lead to severe tragedies for Texas. Droughts, heat waves, and floods are a few problems that we are facing due to global warming. Us humans contribute to global warming in several ways. Burning fossil fuels, such as coal and gas to power our cars. Deforestation, humans clear forests to build urban architecture. Plants play an important role in our ecosystem. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Farming as well, livestock produces a methane gas which is a greenhouse gas. Methane contributes to global warming. We can prevent global warming from accelerating in many ways. Firstly, we can reduce the amount of coal and gas we burn by switching to alternative, renewable energy sources. This includes energy sources such as wind and solar. Switching to these clean energy sources will decrease the amount of carbon pollution that is emitted. When it comes to deforestation, we can plant more trees and other plants. Harmful effects that come from farming can be reduced by feeding livestock different feeds. This will reduce the amount of methane that animals emit. Becoming aware of how we contribute to global warming, and how we can reduce the harmful habits of life we have  are extremely important in bettering our community and world. Every person makes a bigger effect on the earth than we might think. We all play a big role in the health of our earth. I would like to do more research and find a way that myself personally can better the world from the effects of global warming. I would also like to educate my peers on how to do so as well. Together we can all reduce the harmful impacts we create on the earth leading to global warming!

Ashwin Dev Mr. Roddy IHSS 24 October 2018 Where Voting Matters - El Salvador The Salvadoran presidential elections are going to be held on February 4, 2019 with a second round in March if no candidate wins an outright majority. El Salvador has a limit for a single 5-year term which means that the current president,  Sánchez Cerén  will not be able to run for this election. This election is different from most in the past due to the new political parties law, which says that a single candidate from each party must be chosen before the date of the election. Sharing Economy- Luke

Luke Kirchner       After much thinking, I have realized that sharing economies can be created from almost anything. I decided to make create something about sharing home decor. This would include things like paintings, ornaments and other small things to decorate your house. One challenging thing that would need to be sorted out, would be the value of the objects. Art is very subjective and can be valued very differently by other people. The market would have to establish it self to truly assign a price to different pieces. This would be a great way to make some money off of pieces of art that usually aren't seen and this would allow the renter to spruce up their house.       An app would be used to connect people and would ask for necessary information.
