My Sharing Economy -Casey Carter
For my sharing economy, I had the idea of a site that allows people to rent painted miniatures for tabletop games such as Warhammer in exchange for money. Painting miniatures on your own is a often long and tedious process, especially if you have a large amount of unpainted ones that you need to paint for a competitive army. My idea would be that people could rent out their painted models to people who are in need of them to play games. People who have models could list their models on the website with a price for renting them, and then people who would like those models could rent them out. The better the models are painted, the more expensive the models would be to paint. I think it would function similar to websites like Craigslist with the renter and client organizing the pickup and return of the models. There would also need to be something for renters to be able to rate clients, so that clients can't abuse the models or steal them, because they would end up getting a bad rating. It could also run like craiglslist where people could just purchase models that are priced by the sellers.
I know this is a really really niche market, but the idea really intrigued me about a business that would work like this.
