My Sharing Economy-Ren

After briefly discussing the exchange of services in small communities in class, I started to think about how we could create a shared economy by having people in communities share services such as power washing or pet sitting and tools or equipment. I would imagine being able to exchange services for goods, services for services or goods for goods. It would basically be a place where neighbors can reach out to other people in their neighborhood. It would be kind of similar to nextdoor.com only it would have the ability to set what could be seen as trade deals. I would try and get some way to verify each agreement but not have it be completely formal. You would start off with posting a request for whatever service or good that you need and also list certain services on your profile that you would be willing to help with. This way, someone can match up their services listed to a post requesting the specific service. I also think it would be useful to have local businesses or contractors on the site as they could get business through the site and the site would have some professional contractors so people would also have access to reliable people for services. I'm sure there are already similar platforms to this but I thought this would be a cool idea.

Sharing Economy- Luke

Luke Kirchner       After much thinking, I have realized that sharing economies can be created from almost anything. I decided to make create something about sharing home decor. This would include things like paintings, ornaments and other small things to decorate your house. One challenging thing that would need to be sorted out, would be the value of the objects. Art is very subjective and can be valued very differently by other people. The market would have to establish it self to truly assign a price to different pieces. This would be a great way to make some money off of pieces of art that usually aren't seen and this would allow the renter to spruce up their house.       An app would be used to connect people and would ask for necessary information.
