Shared Access to 3D Printers
Although this idea wouldn't last long as 3D printers are getting more and more accessible to people, I still think that this would be a good idea as long as prices of 3D printers are high or if you just want to use a printer once. People could potentially have easy access to having whatever they want printed out and maybe even sent to them. It would probably easiest to start something like this on an app and have 3D printer requests sent as notifications to people who actually have their own 3D printer. There are some companies that 3D print something and then ship it to you, having shared access to a 3D printer would remove the cost of shipping since whoever requested the print would have to pick it up. Prices regarding the use of the printer would vary due to how good it is. If someone isn't able to get the object printed on time then they'd have to pay some type of fee. That could also go the other way if someone doesn't retrieve what they requested to be printed. As I mentioned before, this idea would become more and more obsolete as prices of 3D printers dropped, however the only things it could still be used for in the future is for people's one time uses or if someone wanted a person to print them parts for a house with one of those large industrial sized printers since those are going to stay high in price longer than the average 3D printer.
