Child Labour and Child Soldiers Around the World

         Millions of children around the world are trapped into child labour, being deprived from their childhood, their health, and most importantly their education. Worldwide, 218 million children between 5 and 17 are in employment; 152 million are victims of child labour. Almost half of those children (73 million) work in hazardous child labour. Africa, being the highest percent of children workers (72.1 million children). 1 of 5 chance of children in Africa are victims of child labour. 88 million victims are male children and 64 million are female children. Child Labour is a large issue in the world, if this issue continues to persist a threat to national economies and has severe negative and short term consequences. Another big civil issue is Child Soldiers around the world. As young as 8 years old boys and girls serve in government forces and armed oppositions groups. Fighting on the front lines, forced to participate in suicide missions, and act as spies, messengers, or lookout. Many children are abducted or recruited by force, some children join out of desperation, believing that armed groups off a better chance of survival.
