Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is the second largest illicit industry in the whole world, the average yearly revenue from all of its multiple different assets is 150 Billion dollars. The popular categories that are defined as “Human Trafficking” are: Forced labor, Slavery, Organ Donation, Sex Trafficking, etc. The number of people affected is at an unimaginable number today. Every year, 600,000-800,000 people are captured and are put into this trade, 80% being female, 20% being children. The most popular trafficking method that is used by numerous cartels are for construction. In Florida, the 3rd most popular state for human trafficking, 1 in 7 teenagers who runaway from home, will be captured and placed into some form of human trafficking system. Since 2005 a Florida non-profit organization by the name of “The Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking”, have been assisting these victims with housing, household amenities, and transportation to safer locations.

Opinions:
-Our government should look into locations where human trafficking is most predominant, and try to prevent this as much as possible.
-Human Trafficking is the most relevant example of the violation of civil rights in the world at the moment.
