Police Brutality
Police Brutality has been a huge problem in our country. Every year more people are being killed by the police, with most of the population being African Americans. In 2018 alone, more than 1000 people of all races were killed, with at least 25% of those people being African Americans. Also, the country together in 2018, did not go more than a month without killing someone because of police brutality. Many of the people killed are unarmed men and women, only a handful were presumed to be armed. I feel as a country, we have failed. Many of the things that happen today were happening, when the Civil Rights Movement was happening. We say we have advanced as a whole, but I Believe we are at the same place. Most of the people being killed are African American, but there is still a percentage for White and Latinos Americans. These killings are mainly more on the east coast, but there have been reports about killing all around the United States. I feel, there is no excuse when it comes to a police officer killing an unarmed man/women. To me, this is one of the main things that come to mind when I hear Civil Rights, after so long, the police are still killing.
