Thoughts On Engagement

For the challenge project, my issue is mass shootings and gun control in America. The United States has the highest number of mass shootings out of any other country, which is mainly because of our lax gun control laws. While doing my research, I learned many of the different statistics about gun control, and how out gun control is compared to the rest of the world.
For the issue, I think that the main thing that I can do is raise awareness. Of course I can't do anything major to impact the state of gun control America right now, but I can certainly try to raise awareness about mass shootings and advocate for gun control. The main message that I would want to let everybody know is that mass shootings are preventable, and that gun control isn't necessarily a bad thing. Once I am done asking my contacts about what steps should be taken to prevent mass shootings, I was planning on putting up posters, as well as setting up a website with some statistics and other such information about the topic of gun control. It definitely isn't that much, but I feel like it is they best possible way for me to try and make an impact.  If there would also happen to be any, I would also like to participate in an anti-gun rally or protest, but currently I don't know of any that are going to happen in the near future.

Sharing Economy- Luke

Luke Kirchner       After much thinking, I have realized that sharing economies can be created from almost anything. I decided to make create something about sharing home decor. This would include things like paintings, ornaments and other small things to decorate your house. One challenging thing that would need to be sorted out, would be the value of the objects. Art is very subjective and can be valued very differently by other people. The market would have to establish it self to truly assign a price to different pieces. This would be a great way to make some money off of pieces of art that usually aren't seen and this would allow the renter to spruce up their house.       An app would be used to connect people and would ask for necessary information.
