Thoughts On Engagement

Challenge Project
For my Challenge Project, I chose air pollution and water pollution for topics. Specifically, I focused on excess ozone at low altitudes and plastic in waterways. To start off, the reason I chose these topics was because of the ways I could engage in them, especially water pollution. My idea for resolution of waterway pollution was to go out and do some handwork with pollution there, and my main inspiration for this was in Middle School when we did just that. We mainly just walked around with garbage bags picking up plastic, but there ended up being a lot more plastic than I had anticipated so that made things not boring and it actually felt like I was doing something.

My second proposal for engagement was for ozone pollution. Now, this was a hard one to come up with, since there isn't really much a 15-year-old high school student can do about pollution caused by the gas & oil industry and a couple million cars. However, after some rigorous brainstorming, I finally came up with an idea to make an account on social media (could be multiple forms of social media) that spreads awareness for ozone pollution. If I can start now, then it's possible it can rack up enough followers to do some good.
